About the Split PDF tool
Splitting covers several genuinely different jobs. Sometimes you need one page out of a sixty-page contract to send to someone. Sometimes a scanner has produced a single file containing five separate documents that need to become five files. Sometimes a chapter has to be lifted out of a book, or a report broken into ten-page chunks small enough to email.
Rather than making you guess page numbers, the pages appear as thumbnails as soon as you upload, so you can see what you are selecting. Then pick the method that suits the job: extract a range into one new file, break a list of ranges into separate files, chop the document into equal chunks, or explode it into one file per page. Every result is a proper PDF — pages are copied across untouched, so text stays selectable and quality is identical to the original.
Step by step
How to split a PDF
Add your PDF
The pages appear as thumbnails so you can see what you are working with.
Choose how to split
Extract a range, split several ranges into separate files, use fixed chunks, or separate every page.
Enter the pages
Ranges use plain notation, for example 1-3, 7, 12-20.
Download
One file comes back on its own. Several arrive as a numbered ZIP.

Questions
Split PDF FAQ
How do I extract just one page from a PDF?
Upload the file, keep the mode set to extract, and type that single page number. You will get a one-page PDF containing exactly that page.
How do I split a PDF into separate files?
Choose 'split each range into its own file' and enter the ranges separated by commas — for example 1-4, 5-9, 10-14 produces three files. To separate every page, choose the one-file-per-page mode instead.
What page notation can I use?
Numbers and ranges separated by commas: 1-3, 7, 12-20. An open range like 12- means page 12 to the end. Spaces are ignored, so type it however feels natural.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied across exactly as they are, so text remains selectable and images keep their resolution.
How do I delete pages instead of extracting them?
Either extract the pages you want to keep, or use Edit PDF, where you can remove pages by clicking them on the thumbnails.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not in the browser. Protected or restricted PDFs cannot be opened by this tool. Remove the protection in the program that created the file first.
